Abstract

The principle of Shura (consultation) is one of the core values greatly emphasized in our noble religion, particularly within the system of governance. This is clearly reflected in the Holy Qur'an, where Allah Almighty says: “And consult them in matters. Then, when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely on Him” (Aal-E-Imran 3:159). In Islam, Shura plays a fundamental role in the construction of the Islamic nation and in shaping the relationship between rulers and the ruled. It is a system that counters despotism, injustice, and absolute authority, rejecting the notion of the ruler as a divine representative on earth. This research, titled “The Principle of Shura in Islam,” aims to highlight the significance of Shura in the lives of individuals and the structure of the state.
